Rev. Timothy Bernard Graham, was born in Huntersville, North Carolina on November 20, 1960 and entered into eternal life on September 3, 2022.
The only child of Mazella Wilson Graham and Richard Calvin Graham, Rev. Graham received his education in Mecklenburg County Schools. He graduated from North Mecklenburg High School before receiving a B.A. in English from North Carolina A&T State University. In 2014, he received a Master of Divinity from Gardner-Webb University. Before his passing, Rev. Graham was also working to receive a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Ministries from Gardner-Webb University.
In March of 1997, Rev. Graham became Senior Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, after serving as Youth Pastor at Reeder Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor C. Don Steger. Throughout his 25 years as Senior Pastor, Rev. Graham spearheaded a myriad of community-oriented and ministry-building initiatives around the Washington Heights neighborhood and Greater Charlotte. During his early years at Tabernacle, Rev. Graham also worked at the Charlotte Housing Authority and more recently taught English and assisted special needs children at West Charlotte High School.
A proud Aggie, Rev. Graham loved traveling—his favorite places included Charleston, Las Vegas, London, Cape Town, and several countries across Southeast Asia. He enjoyed running as well as watching football and old westerns. Above all, he was devoted to pastoring, mentoring, and teaching the Tabernacle Baptist Church congregation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Calvin Graham and Mazella Wilson Graham. Left to cherish his memory, he is survived by his children, Timothy Bernard Graham, II of Alexandria, VA; Joseph Benjamin Graham of Washington, DC; Shari McKenzie Wright of Charlotte, NC; his granddaughter, Ava Noemi Graham of Alexandria, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The homegoing celebration for Rev. Graham will take place at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Saturday, September 10, 2022 with a viewing at 10:00am ET followed by a funeral service at 11:00am ET with Rev. Asa Bell officiating. Interment will be held at Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The Wayne-Russell Mortuary Service is serving the Graham family.
