Najeé Jamil Hayden was born on August 30, 1990, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Shelia Faison and Norman Hayden. He departed this life on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Najeé received his elementary and middle school education at Berean Junior Academy in Charlotte NC, carrying on a rich family tradition of Christian education. He graduated from Hopewell High School in Charlotte and went on to attend Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama for one year. Najeé later returned to Charlotte, NC to pursue other educational and personal endeavors. Najeé was a son, a husband, a father, a brother, a friend, and so much more. Those who knew him will forever be impacted by his presence. His humble nature and generous spirit will be remembered for a lifetime, and that legacy lives on through his daughter, Khalia, who shares her father’s spirit.
Najeé leaves to cherish his memory his wife – Jadiya Garland Hayden, and his daughter – Khalia Hayden, both of Charlotte NC; his mother – Shelia Faison of Charlotte NC; his father – Norman Hayden (wife Tanya) of Charlotte NC; two grandmothers – Carolyn McAlister of Clinton NC and Judy Joyner Smith of Turkey NC; three sisters – Briana Hayden, Normandy Hayden, and Nia Givens, all of Charlotte NC; two brothers – Kendall Hayden (wife Brittany) and Nicholas Hayden, both of Charlotte NC; two adopted brothers – Richard Henderson of Lexington, Kentucky and Stephen Miller Jr (wife Diandra) of Charlotte NC; his godparents, Sharon and Jerry Quarles of Charlotte NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godbrothers/sisters, and close friends.
Najeé was preceded in death by the following family members: One infant son, Khaleed Hayden; two grandfathers, Leroy Smith, and Willie Erwin; two grandmothers, Lougenia Johnson and Helen Royall; one great grandmother, Helen Faison; one great grandfather, Bradley Jackson; and one uncle, Donnell Smith.
