" Motorboat"
Mr. Lonnie Henderson affectionately
known to some as “Motor Boat” and to
others as “Lonnie Mack” was born April
12, 1950 to the late Harvey and Louise
Henderson. Lonnie departed this life on
Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Atrium
Health main.
Lonnie was educated in Mecklenburg
County schools. After which he was
employed for a little over 10 years with
Concrete Supply, he then worked many
years for Blythe Industries where he was
known as “The Tire Man” and worked
long hard hours until his health failed.
Lonnie was also a 33 rd degree mason
with St. Paul Lodge Modern Free.
At a young age, Lonnie joined the St. Paul
Community Missionary Baptist church
Charlotte NC. In 2016 at the age of 66
Lonnie returned to St. Paul where he
reinstated his membership, but more
importantly he rededicated his life to the
Lord and attended until his health failed.
Lonnie enjoyed sports especially
basketball and football. He was a loyal
Duke Blue Devil and Carolina Panther
fan.
Lonnie would help you in any way he
could. He would literally give you the
shirt off his back. He will definitely be
missed.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his
parents.
He is survived by two daughters, Latisha
Holt (Lee) and Ramona Howell, both of
Charlotte, NC, two sons Willie and Tero
Henderson, both of Charlotte. One sister
Evelyn Carr of Dayton Ohio, and a
devoted nephew Mark Henderson, also
of Charlotte, one aunt Annie Henderson
of Charlotte, seven grandchildren, three
great grand and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
