Ms. Sandra Ellen Jackson was born in Charlotte, NC to Mrs. Ola Mae Jackson. One of five children, she was the most athletic of them all.
Sandra attended Myers Street Elementary School and graduated in 1973 from Garinger High School. She enjoyed playing her clarinet in the band and she was a member of the National Honor Society. Growing up she was also a prankster.
Sandra was a hard worker and believed in doing her best in every aspect of her life. Later in her life she became a faithful member of Moore's Sanctuary A.M.E Zion Church and was very active within various auxiliaries. Her most beloved position was as the president of the Usher Board. You could find her at any time cleaning up the sanctuary. When asked why, her response was always "this is my house too."
Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memories: Children Tonya Caldwell (Tyrone) and Rodney Jackson both of Charlotte NC; mother Mrs. Ola Mae Jackson of Charlotte NC; Grandchildren: Tyree Clyburn Jr., T'Nyiah Davis, and Najah Jackson. Siblings: Henry Jackson of Atlanta, GA, Janie Collins of Durham, NC, Deborah Brice (Frank) of Charlotte NC, Doleatha Gordon (Roland) of Lancaster, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces/nephews and friends.
