Rev. Miller C. Carter
Rev. Miller Columbus Carter, Jr., youngest child born to Miller Sr. and Oma Jane Capel Carter, began his earthly pilgrimage October 22, 1957 in High Point, North Carolina. He departed this life April 7, 2018 at his home in Charlotte, NC with his beloved wife, Howalina and daughter, Rande by his side.
Rev, Carter was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Vivian Capel Harris and Janet Carter Pegues, brother, Donald P. Capel and daughter, Tina McAnelly. Surviving relatives to cherish his legacy and memory are his wife, Howalina of the home, daughter Rande Stacc Mendes (Joseph); grandchildren, Joseph Mendes, Jr., and Joelle Howalina Maria Mendes of Charlotte, NC; sister, Marie Carter White (Roland), of New York, NY; brother, Edward McGill of High Point, NC; nieces Karen Harris Carter ( Derek ) of Bowie, MD; Carla Capel of Lanham, MD, Donna Capel-Wayne of Bowie, MD, Michon Pegues of High Point, NC and Cheré Pegues of High Pont, NC and, an extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews from Rhode Island as well as grandnephews and grandnieces.
Family visitation will be held 6:30 pm Friday, April 13, 2018 at Simpson-Gillespie United Methodist Church, 3545 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216 and the funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Memorial United Methodist Church, 1327 Cedrow Drive, High Point, NC 27260. There will be a viewing 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
