Arion Albert Wells Green, 96, passed away on December, 5th 2019 at St. Francis Bon Secours Hospital, Greenville, SC. She was the wife of the late William Green, of Charlotte, NC.
Born in Mecklenburg County, NC on October, 26th 1923, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Wille Mae McHenry Wells. Fondly known as Alberta, she attended and graduated from Charlotte City Schools in Charlotte, NC, where she later became a nurse and served in the Mecklenburg County Medical System for over 40 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing crosswords and dabbled a bit in the culinary profession. A decent conversation did her justice, which kept her mind very sharp and witty until the end.
Later in life, she moved to Greenville, SC to be closer to family. She spent her last days surrounded by four generations of family, full of love, life, and laughter.
Alberta is survived by her dear grandson Rickey Green, Sr (Monique DesHotels), Phoenix, Az; her caregiver Jeannette Green, Greenville, SC, great-grandchildren: Rickey Green, Jr (Michelle) Forest City, NC and Monica Brown (Brian) Greenville, SC; great-great-grandchildren: Eldelbryyone Richardson and Rickey Green III, both of Phoenix, Amelia Madole and Desmon Rathje both of Cedar Rapids, Ia, Jalissa Tutt, Hailey Richardson, Malcolm Brown, and Harve Brown, all of Greenville, SC; and one great-great-great-grandson Ronald Allen Peake, III of Greenville, SC.
The funeral service will be graveside held on Friday, February, 21st 2019 at 1:00p at North Pinewood Cemetery, 700 N. Summit Ave, Charlotte, NC 28216
